October in the Garden

October 2026 in the Garden

This month has seen us clear trees, garden beds and keep your gardens as tidy as possible through the stormy weather and loss of leaves from the trees.

I have been working on a couple of garden design projects. The largest for a garden in Rotherfield. It is two storey terrace space with a mediterranean feel that the design will be leaning into and embracing. Being a courtyard with a good amount of sun exposure, it will be the perfect place for the family to relax once the planting has been completed and begins to establish.

The two cypress trees will be accompanied by rosemary, olives, myrtle and more fennel among an array of other shrubs and perennials thoughtfully chosen for this space. Silvers, purples, white flowers and soft yellows will come together here and I am really excited to watch this project progress and develop.

I share more of my garden design work in my monthly newsletter, to join sign up here. I also share details of our work on our instagram: @mackintosh_martin. We would love to have you join us.

We are looking forward to working on your gardens this November, do let us know if you would like Tree work or Garden Design, this is a great time to get in touch for these,

Have a wonderful November,

Liza & the team at Mackintosh Martin
