Our Story
Mackintosh Martin was founded by husband and wife, Ru Martin and Liza Mackintosh in the spring of 2023. Having both previously worked as professional gardeners, Ru and Liza combined their shared passion for transforming outdoor spaces into Mackintosh Martin.
Blending Liza’s artistic eye and creativity with Ru’s practical, hands-on horticultural experience, they became a gardening duo that transformed the spaces they worked on and became sought after in the gardens around them. Needing help with gardening demand, Ru and Liza found a team of like minded gardeners to support them in their garden work.
Our small team of gardeners consists of; Rachel, Alex and Emily who are all committed to the work that they do. Each of our gardeners are dedicated to ensuring that your garden is well cared for and improved upon each visit so that you can enjoy it as much as possible.
Since establishing Mackintosh Martin, Liza has completed an RHS level two in practical horticulture at Hever Castle, Kent and completed a Garden Design Diploma award with distinction. Liza now offers Garden Design to those who would like their garden reimagined.
Ru has developed a particular interest in trees and tree care, expanding his expertise into the best practices to maintain trees and keep them in the best possible health and condition to thrive. Ru is now fully qualified with a city and guides qualification in tree surgery and climbing.
We aspire to offer you wrap-around design, garden care and tree work because we love transforming your gardens into places that you and the wildlife around you can cherish.
