October in the Garden
September has been a showery month, giving the gardens a good and overdue water. We worked on tackling weeds, cutting and reducing hedges, shaping shrubs and continuing to clear overgrown beds.
We have worked on a couple of design projects, with an aim to replant unused areas of grass to create more dynamic planting schemes that create interest, encourage biodiversity and become beautiful focal points for you to enjoy. If this is something you would be interested in, please let us know this Autumn or Winter. Design work takes time so please take this into consideration when reaching out to us - now is the best time to express interest.
We will shortly be sending out the bulb catalgoue of gorgeous Spring bulbs to choose from, we will be planting these out in your gardens over Autumn. Let us know which bulbs you would like, our particular favourites are: Alliums these add height and long lasting interest as when the flower heads develop into seeds they add a beautiful firework silhouette into the beds, varieties we love are: Allium hollandicum, Allium Globe master and Allium sphaerocephalon. Camassias and Nectaroscordium add so much drama and intrigue into spring beds before other plants have begun to flower. For Tulips we love the Tulipa Evita and Black Hero. These look wonderful in large pot displays. We can’t wait to hear which bulbs and spring flowering plants you will choose.
We have a couple of Tree Surgery spaces available and are looking to book slots up for the Autumn and Winter for larger jobs. If you have a tree you would like pruned, reduced, crown lifted or felled please do let us know, we’d love to help you manage and make the most of your trees on your property.
The Gardens are looking beautiful with the Rose Hips, Sedums, Anemones, Pervoskia, Potentilla, Salvias among many others still putting on a display for us to enjoy.
This October we will be working on continuing to weed beds and tidy borders, clearing falling leaves, planting, cutting back slushly perennials, lifting and dividing perennials that need rejuvenating and generally tidying and caring for your outdoor spaces.
